These projects are a great example of the crossroads between my personal interests and my desire to apply myself to learn new transferable skills.

2018 BMC Softball SSAC Tournament Hype Video

This was my first big video project that I did completely from start to finish. Researching the players, choosing the music, and planning my shots weeks in advance were just a few of the things I had to do to prepare for this. I greatly enjoyed working with Nathan Gaillard to add his broadcast audio into the mix, and I couldn’t have been more lucky than to have caught two walkoffs against Top 10 teams in the two home games I was able to attend.

Razorbacks Fan Video – Flip the Script

This video will always be my favorite, as it’s what sent me down this path in the broadcast industry. I still remember throwing this together late one night in my studio apartment in Fayetteville, just because it seemed like fun. Overnight it received ridiculous recognition, especially from someone with no followers, no media background, iMovie, and no original footage.

Interactive Baseball Display Case

In my pursuit to visit every MLB Stadium, I’ve started collecting a baseball at each park that I’ve been to. For this project, I have built a kiosk database application using a Raspberry Pi, a touchscreen monitor, and NeoPixels. This database will house all of the games that I have been to, with full stats and box scores. Once a team or a game is selected, the corresponding baseball will light up in that team’s colors.

Building the Herring Household

This project was created as a Holiday gift for my parents in 2020. In the midst of building a new house, they couldn’t quite place how it was going to look and if they were making the right choices. All footage was shot by myself with a GoPro Karma Drone after planning flight paths and measuring altitude and camera angles to make sure I could sync the footage later. Then, I created a 3D model in Google SketchUp and sat my virtual camera to the same coordinates. Once I could verify that the image would line up, I added the model to a greenscreen background and edited it into the drone footage.

BMC Softball “One Pitch At a Time.”

In 2018, I designed this banner to be hung in the workout facility for Blue Mountain College Softball.
